Now one of the longest running shows on the South Shore, this wonderful production has been entertaining folk from right across the globe for the past 5 years.
Our sixth year starts on Thursday, July 11th, 2013 at the Fisheries Museum of the Atlantic in Lunenberg.
‘A look at our history through scene and song.’
‘Glimpses’ is a series of exciting and entertaining vignettes, suitable for all ages, depicting interesting events in the history of this area from the landing of the first settlers to the present day.
This popular, live theatre presentation is complimented by some very relevant slides. ‘Glimpses’ premiered on July 4th, 2008 at the Fisheries Museum in Lunenburg. Response was tremendous, both from local inhabitants and visitors alike.
‘A show for all the family.’
This original production, penned by members of the cast, has been written for visitors and locals alike. It has been described as the most entertaining local history lesson you’re ever likely to experience. In all, it is a thought provoking experience with many emotional ups and downs.
Every historic event performed and each song used to enhance the story has been thoroughly researched. Entertainment has been put first without losing any of the factual information, even though a few of the skits may have been embellished with a little imagination.
The air-conditioned theatre is now extremely comfortable and the wonderful narration, action, music and singing, make it ‘not to be missed’ entertainment for the whole family.
‘Glimpses’ has now become an integral part of many visitors experience of Lunenburg County, but has also been enjoyed and supported by many local folk, which in itself is a huge testament of its popularity.
If you have yet to experience “Glimpses’, try to catch a performance this year and see for yourself what the Summer Troupe has to offer. You won’t be disappointed.
